In addition to our wonderful beaches, parks, restaurants, and shops, there are a number of festivals and special events scheduled for the summer of 2014. 32nd Annual Moxie Festival
July 11th - 13th, Lisbon, Maine
Since 1982, The Moxie Festival in Lisbon, Maine has been held on the second weekend in July. The Festival now includes a three day Pow Wow; Friday night fireworks; a Saturday parade, Family Fun Fair, and 5K race; and on Sunday, the Chief Worumbo Androscoggin River Race and the Moxie Car Show.
49th Annual Yarmouth Clam Festival
July 18th - 20th, Yarmouth, Maine
The Yarmouth Clam Festival takes place every summer, during the third weekend in July in the charming coastal village of Yarmouth, Maine. This summertime tradition draws visitors from all over the country who come to enjoy the music and arts, events and competition, and of course, the delicious food.
12th Annual Native American Pow-Wow
July 19th & 20th, Wells,Maine
The 12th Annual Native American Pow-Wow is sponsored by the Wells Chamber of Commerce. Representatives of several Maine & New England tribes will be at Harbor park with native dancers, drummers, craft vendors, singers & traditional food booths. Special events will be presented throughout each day.
York Days and Lighting of the Nubble
July 26th - August 3rd, York,Maine
Centered at Short Sands Beach, York Days features local concerts, tournaments, sandcastle building and fairs. Christmas in July and the annual Lighting of the Nubble on Sunday, July 27th on York Beach and fireworks display on August 3rd.
66th Maine Lobster Festival
July 30th - August 3rd, Rockland, Maine
"Five Days of Feasting and Fun on the Fabulous Coast of Maine!"

The 160th Topsham Fair features agricultural exhibits, animal pulling events, 4-H, crafts, midway and harness racing.
21st Annual Great Falls Balloon Festival
Aug 15th -17th, Lewiston, Maine
The Great Falls Balloon Festival is the premier summer event of central Maine. It enjoys a national reputation as a first-class event and hosts visitors and balloonists from all over the US and Canada. This much-loved event is a destination for many visitors to the state of Maine, with activities for all ages, a parade and more.
36th Maine Highland Games & Scottish Festival
Aug 16th, Topsham, Maine
The Annual Maine Highland Games & Scottish Festival is the largest one-day Highland Games in New England. Wide variety of Scottish activities to enjoy; world class athletes, youth athletics, massed Pipe band performances and competitions, dog trials, over 60 clan tents, Scottish organizations and vendors to enjoy. Harper circle, dance competitions, Clan & Famly information tent, souvenir sales tent, Scottish Arts & Crafts, Parade of the Tartans. Entertainment by various groups, fiddle and harp workshops, and much much more.
August 23rd, Wells, Maine
The Wells Chili-Fest has been a popular, traditional late summer event for Wells. The event is presented by the Wells, Maine Chamber of Commerce and the Chili Cook-Offs are sanctioned by and run in accordance to the rules of the International Chili Society. Cash prizes and plaques are awarded for winners in each of the cook-off categories. All winners of the Wells Chili-Fest ICS sanctioned cook-offs qualify to compete for further cash prizes and awards at the World's Championship Chili Cook-off. ICS cook-off competition is for ICS members. The ICS is the largest food contest, festival organization in the world.
The Ogunquit Playhouse is one of Maine's cultural jewels and a cornerstone of America's theatrical heritage. Over its 81-year history of producing the highest quality theatre, it has earned the title of "America's Foremost Summer Theatre" and is one of the last of the great Summer Theatres from the Straw Hat Circuit still producing traditional live musical theatre.
Billy Elliot ~ June 25 through July 26 ~ The Ogunquit Playhouse is honored to be one of the first regional theatres in the U.S. to produce Billy Elliot! This amazing show features Elton John's spectacular score and an inspirational story of a young boy's struggle against the odds to make his dream come true.
Mary Poppins~ July 30 through August 30 ~ Winner of 44 major theatre awards from around the globe, Mary Poppins has captivated audiences for generations, and now the enchanting story, unforgettable songs and breathtaking dance numbers will dazzle and delight theatre goers of all ages.
The Witches of Eastwick ~ September 3 through September 27 ~ The Witches of Eastwick are the original "desperate housewives!" The Ogunquit Playhouse is proud to be selected by Cameron Mackintosh to be the American Northeast premiere of his hit stage adaptation of The Witches of Eastwick, the sexy new musical comedy based on the Warner Brothers hit motion picture.
The Addams Family ~ October 1 through October 26 ~ "They're creepy and they're kooky, mysterious and spooky, they're altogether ooky!" The Ogunquit Playhouse is thrilled to be one of the first regional premieres of the Broadway musical sensation, The Addams Family.
